Public Hearing Scheduled for September Service Change

C-TRAN has held several open houses and spoken with many community members regarding possible changes to 11 different routes (3, 4, 7, 19, 25, 37, 38, 39, 44, 72, 78 and 80), and adding four new routes (5, 6, 60 and 74). As we listened to public input, C-TRAN also added a few new concepts to routes 19, 25, and 74.

As our outreach process comes to a close, C-TRAN will present these concepts as a formal proposal to the C-TRAN Board of Directors at a public hearing on Tuesday, April 12. The hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. If approved, these changes would take effect on September 4, 2016.

Information is available online at www.c-tran.com. You can provide your feedback though the website or by calling our Customer Service Office at (360) 695-0123. The deadline to submit written comments is Tuesday, April 12, by 12 p.m.

C-TRAN Moves to a Closed Radio System

C-TRAN is introducing a new radio system which will no longer allow bus-to-bus communication. This upgrade will enhance security while eliminating distractions for our coach operators, creating a safer environment on the bus.

This new system does not allow our operators to make last-minute requests (radio calls) for customers who want to facilitate transfers from one bus to another. Please be mindful of this and arrange your trip plan accordingly, before you board, if you intend to make a transfer.

You may share any comments or observations you have by calling C-TRAN’s Passenger Service Office at (360) 695-0123.

Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.

All Zone Fares to Be Called “Regional”

As C-TRAN moves toward the implementation of its new electronic fare payment system, the “Hop Fastpass”, the name of All Zone fares will change to Regional. The new name reflects what this fare type provides, which is regional travel with transfers between C-TRAN and its transit partners, TriMet and the Portland Streetcar.
