PROPOSED SEPTEMBER FARE AND SERVICE CHANGES

Fare Proposal

At their Thursday, March 19 meeting, the C-TRAN Board of Directors approved C-TRAN staff to take a fare increase proposal to the public for their feedback. The proposal is part of a Board policy, adopted in 2008, that asks for smaller annual fare increases that passengers can anticipate, plan for, and are similar to what they have experienced in prior years. The smaller annual increases have addressed inflation while achieving the agency’s farebox goals to keep pace with other transit agencies across the nation.

This year’s proposal seeks to increase the following fares:

Service Proposal

Two routes are proposed to have adjustments made to their schedules to better facilitate their on-time performance:

Route 71

  • Weekdays and Saturdays: adjust frequency from every 20 minutes to every 25 minutes.
  • Sundays: no adjustments are being considered at this time.

Route 157
Currently, Route 157 is experiencing delayed arrival times in Lloyd District, due to increased traffic congestion (up to 15-20 minutes later than scheduled). Two options are being considered for morning trips only:

  • Option 1: Adjust arrival times in the Lloyd District to better reflect current travel times. This option allows the currently scheduled departures out of 99th Street Transit Center to remain as-is.
  • Option 2: Adjust the departure times out of the 99th Street Transit Center so the bus arrives in Lloyd District as is currently printed in the schedule.

Online surveys are now available for Route 71 and Route 157.
