 10-Ride Punch Cards to Replace Ticket Books

Starting this July

Starting in July, 10-ride punch cards will replace 10-ride ticket books. The installation of new fareboxes in September is the reason for this change:

  • New 10-ride punch cards will be available for sale starting at the end of July, 2014. The cost will be equal to the cost of a book of 10-ride tickets;
  • Both single-ride tickets AND the new punch cards will be accepted on C-TRAN only, through August 31, 2014.
  • Beginning September 1, 2014, only the punch cards will be accepted on C-TRAN.

Exchanges Honored, Sept. 1–Oct. 31, 2014

  • Exchanges of fully intact ticket books, for the new punch cards, will be honored from September 1–October 31, 2014, at any C-TRAN Passenger Service Office.
  • Partial exchanges will not be accepted.

Unvalidated C-TRAN Fares Not Accepted on TriMet

Starting September 1, 2014

Effective September 1, 2014, C-TRAN and TriMet will no longer accept each other’s unvalidated tickets or day passes. Passengers must start their trip on the system that issued their unvalidated fare.

Express punch cards will be provided with an Express transfer that allows for continued travel on TriMet, through the date and time indicated.

All-Zone and Express day passes may be used on TriMet, once they’ve been validated by a C-TRAN operator.
