Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Laura L. Merry first joined C-TRAN in November 2006, and currently serves as the agency's internal affairs Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Her responsibilities include oversight of Human Resources, Operations, Information Technology, Finance, Maintenance, and Marketing and Communications. In addition, she will also be working within Intergovernmental Relations as well as the Interstate Bridge Replacement Project. Ms. Merry is also part of the team involved in all agency labor activities and negotiations. During her professional life spanning more than 30 years, Merry has worked with medical and legal experts in numerous capacities. Prior to her current role, she also served as C-TRAN’s Risk Specialist and then Deputy Director of Human Resources and Risk.
Merry holds a bachelor’s degree from Washington State University. She also holds the HR Certification Institute Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification, the Society for Human Resource Management—Senior Certified Professional (SHRM—SCP) certification as well as the Disability Management Employer Coalition Certified Professional Disability Management (CPDM) designation. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and serves on the board of the Washington State Transit Insurance Pool.
