C-TRAN stands for equity and justice and denounces racism, intolerance and exclusion. We, along with many other agencies and businesses, are exploring how to expand our current work of building the core values of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) into our operations, as well as model those values as we advance our mission.
In mid-2020, C-TRAN began building our DEI Committee, a group of employees from throughout the organization who are passionate about helping forge a plan to grow, learn and evolve. This growth will take a number of forms including—but not limited to—training, recruitment and community outreach. While the conversations around DEI can be uncomfortable, we firmly believe that it is through discomfort that real change takes place. We envision this committee as yet another way that C-TRAN lives up to our motto: “Our Community, Our Promise.”
