Vancouver, WA: This July, C-TRAN celebrates 40 years of providing transit service to the citizens of Clark County. To commemorate this milestone, C-TRAN has partnered with the Clark County Historical Museum to offer a very special look back on the past four decades and the impact that C-TRAN has had on the region. The historical display will be available to the viewing public starting Friday, July 9, on the fifth floor of the Vancouver Community Library, located at 901 C Street in Vancouver.
C-TRAN’s first day of full service was July 6, 1981.
“The Clark County Historical Museum is proud to partner with C-TRAN to provide the public with a unique look at the past 40 years of transit and the important role that C-TRAN has had in shaping our community,” said Bradley Richardson, Executive Director of the museum.
In addition to the display, C-TRAN is celebrating with its riders throughout the summer with various pop-up events, contests and special prize giveaways.
“A lot has changed since C-TRAN began service in 1981, but the one thing that hasn’t changed is our commitment to our riders and the larger community. We owe our longevity to the support they’ve shown us over the years, and we look forward to celebrating this important milestone with them,” said C-TRAN Chief Executive Officer Shawn M. Donaghy.
On Thursday, July 8, C-TRAN staff will hand out commemorative giveaways and treats at 99th Street Transit Center and Fisher’s Landing Transit Center from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., and at Vancouver Mall Transit Center from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
