Vancouver, WA: C-TRAN, in partnership with Waste Connections, is sponsoring a free document shredding event Saturday, September 30, at Fisher's Landing Transit Center. The event continues from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., during which time anyone is invited to bring up to two boxes or bags of papers to be safely shredded. Waste Connections and C-TRAN staff will be present in the north parking lot at the transit center, located at 3510 S.E. 164th Ave. in Vancouver.

C-TRAN will also be accepting donations on behalf of Share Vancouver, an organization that provides support to the homeless and other people in need in the community. Items needed most include peanut butter (no glass jars), laundry detergent, hand and dish soap, children's clothing (especially size 10 and up), boys' shoes (size 1 and up), coats (girls' size 8 and up, and women's size S through 3XL), men's underwear (all sizes), and plus-size women's clothing.

The event is being organized by the C-TRAN Green Team, a self-driven initiative that strives to make C-TRAN a cleaner, greener operation while serving the community.
