Special Fares

C-TRAN Identification Cards are required for special/reduced fares (cash fares, tickets or passes). C-TRAN ID cards must be obtained at one of the three Passenger Service offices. ID cards are non-transferrable and are not valid if used by someone other than the signator. Use in this manner is considered fraud and is punishable under state law. C-TRAN is not responsible for lost or stolen ID cards. Adult cash fare or purchase of an Adult monthly pass will be required without a valid ID card. New applications for ID cards will be accepted at any time. Eligible customers will receive their first card free. ID cards will be replaced at a $5.00 fee. Requalification may be required to replace a lost or stolen ID card. Contact the Passenger Service Office by e-mail, telephone or visit in person for more information.

ID Eligibility

Children 0 months to 6 years of age. Children can ride for free but must be accompanied by a fare paying adult at all times
Youth are 7–18 years. Proof of age is required for ages 13 through 18 years.
Reduced: Low income verification required through proof of current receipt of Washington State Medical Coupons or a Washington State Food Stamp ID card only. C-TRAN does not accept any other form of low income qualification. Discount on monthly pass only. No cash fare discount.
Seniors are 62 years of age and over and may be required to show proof of age.
Disabled are 7 year or older and must have proof of permanent disability with a Medicare Card, ID card issued by another transit agency, coded medical coupon from the State of Washington or a doctor’s certificate. A doctor’s signature and/or the issuing agency stamp is required to obtain an ID card. For a complete description of Disabled and temporary Disabled eligibility, contact the C-TRAN Passenger Service Office.
Attendant Program: Disabled passengers who are 7 years or older and have difficulty riding the bus alone may travel with a personal attendant. A special identification sticker on a C-TRAN Disabled ID card is required. The passenger pays their appropriate fare and the attendant may ride free. Contact the Customer Service Office by e-mail, telephone or visit in person for more information.

Other Special Fares

Summer Blast Pass is a discounted summer youth pass for riders 7–18 years of age. It is valid June, July and August on all C-TRAN, TriMet and MAX routes. Cost is $40. I.D. showing proof of age is required between the ages of 13–18 to purchase or use Summer Blast Pass on C-TRAN or TriMet. Check the Summer Blast Pass page for more information.

BackPASS—Students enrolled at any middle or senior high school, collge or university are eligible for a BackPASS allowing unlimited access to C-TRAN service within Clark County. Participation must be through the individual school or school district. (Prices vary.)
Annual Employer Express Pass—Employers can purchase this pass for their Clark County commuters; providing them with hassle-free access to all C-TRAN and TriMet services, including Express buses to downtown Portland, Connector, MAX, and the Portland Streetcar. Click for more info.

Pass-By-Mail

This C-TRAN service allows our customers to purchase their monthly passes and ticket booklets by mail each month. Customers send their monthly order and payment to our Passenger Service Office, and we return their passes or ticket booklets, along with an order form for the next month, by mail. Orders for monthly passes must be received by the 10th of the month before the month for which you are purchasing the pass. Your pass will be mailed to arrive by the 1st of the month for which it is valid. Requests for ticket booklets may be made at any time. Combining Rides on TriMet and C-TRAN

TriMet fares on C-TRAN

Riders may combine TriMet and C-TRAN rides in the same trip without paying extra, using the following TriMet fares:

All-Day Ticket
Passport annual stickers for employers and colleges
Most monthly passes and 10-Ticket Book tickets (Adult 2-Zone for Zones 1 and 2 requires an upgrade; see table below.)
(Note: Riders can use TriMet Zone 1-2 to travel between Delta Park MAX and Jantzen Beach.)

C-TRAN fares on TriMet

C-TRAN issues transfers for All-Zone and Express cash fares that can be used on all C-TRAN and TriMet buses, MAX and the Portland Streetcar. Riders may also use the Go Anywhere Day Pass, Express Pass and most monthly passes and tickets. (C-Zone fares require an upgrade; see table below.)

C-TRAN's Express Service/Fares

C-TRAN has several routes that provide express non-stop service to downtown Portland, Marquam Hill and the Lloyd District. These buses require a special Express fare to ride. Please see fare grid for pricing information.

Employers: You can offer the Annual Express Pass to your Clark County employees who commute to Oregon. This annual option is available in a convenient sticker that adheres to the employee’s ID badge. Employers must have a company photo ID badge to participate. Please click here for more information.
