Bus Class
C-TRAN’s Bus Class is a hands-on training curriculum that helps middle school students become familiar with the basics of using public transportation. C-TRAN staff come directly to the classroom and guide students toward becoming conscientious and safe bus riders. Bus Class is a step-by-step process that provides interaction with a bus driver, a Passenger Service Representative, and practical experience on a C-TRAN bus.
Key components:
- How to read and understand transit maps and schedules;
- How to identify familiar points of interest;
- How to board a bus, pay and exit a bus safely;
- Essential dos & don’ts when riding a bus; and
- SafeWatch—how it works and who participates.
Bus Class Scheduling
- Class size is limited to 30 students per visit;
- Primary focus is middle school students;
- Scheduling for the next school year begins August 15; and
- Limited number of dates available for scheduling Bus Class.
