Modify Netscape Navigator 3.0 for Mac to recognize PDF files
In order to view PDF files within the window of the Netscape web browser, the plug-in "PDFViewer" must be placed in the browser's "Plug-ins" folder. If Netscape Navigator is installed on the disk on which you're installing Acrobat Reader, the installer will place a copy of the "PDFViewer" plug-in in the "Plug-ins" folder of the first copy of Netscape Navigator it finds. Check to see if PDFViewer is in the Plug-ins folder, located in the Netscape program folder.
Begin by launching Netscape.

If the PDF Viewer plug-in is not listed, check to make sure you have placed the PDF Viewer plug-in file in Netscape's "Plug-Ins" folder. Once the plug-in is in the proper folder, click on the Edit button.
In the Edit Type window, select the "Plug-In" radio button, and select "PDF Viewer" from the pull down menu.
