Starting Thursday evening, from approximately 6:45 p.m., through Friday morning at approximately 9:00 a.m., sections of both Fifth and Sixth avenues in downtown Portland will be closed to traffic for the presidential visit of Barack Obama.
During that time, C-TRAN buses will be on detour (please see map below), and the following C-TRAN bus stops will be closed:
- Fifth & Alder: affects routes 105, 134, and 199
- Fifth & Morrison: affects routes 164 & 177
- Sixth & Washington: affects routes 164 and 177
- Sixth & Stark: affects routes 105, 134, and 199
Accessible Stop Locations
- For the Thursday evening commute, a temporary stop will be located on SW Oak Street at 6th Avenue, or passengers may choose to utilize stops located south of Yamhill on Sixth Avenue.
- During the Friday morning commute, passengers can only de-board at service stops south of SW Taylor on 5th Avenue.
Travel Alternatives and Trip Planning
Due to the significant traffic impacts that are anticipated, passengers are encouraged to:
- Change their commute times by taking an earlier or later bus; or
- Consider taking C-TRAN to or from MAX at the Delta Park or Parkrose transit centers.
