C-TRAN Names Employee of the Year

Vancouver, WA: Executive Assistant/Clerk to the Board June Berry was named C-TRAN’s 2006 Employee of the Year during the transit agency’s annual Employee Recognition Event. To be chosen as employee of the year, recipients must consistently demonstrate exemplary job performance and characterize the agency’s philosophy and work ethic.

In 2006, Ms. Berry almost single-handedly organized the agency’s interview process for its new Executive Director/CEO, leaving nothing to chance. She was also instrumental in overhauling the agency’s entire archival system—a huge accomplishment.

“June is a wonderful resource, providing a historical perspective on C-TRAN activities. She has a unique ability to make each and every person with whom she comes in contact feel important. Her service oriented disposition is an asset in the Executive Office and throughout the agency,” stated C-TRAN Executive Director/CEO Jeff Hamm. “June is an advocate for the transit industry, extremely loyal to C-TRAN, and widely respected. And that laugh . . . who can suppress a smile when they hear June’s special laugh!”

June’s dedication and enthusiasm for C-TRAN expand into her personal time as well. She and husband George have volunteered as judges for C-TRAN’s annual Roadeo competition for 15 years. In addition, June finds time to quilt, sew and do embroidery and woodworking. In nearly 40 years of marriage, she and George have raised two children, Tanya and George, and they are now enjoying three granddaughters, Jessica, Emma, and Alyssa.

June stands out in many ways—consistently a top performer representing what C-TRAN is all about . . . professionalism, dedication, and kindness. C-TRAN congratulates June on her well deserved selection as 2006 Employee of the Year.
